FORD GT COMES BACK . . . SORT OF . . . AT NAIAS

Autoblog Green is reporting that the Revenge Verde supercar on display at the North American International Auto Show "shares a good portion of its aluminum chassis with the dearly departed Ford GT." Three choices are slated: A Roush-built 605 h.p. Ford, a supercharged GM LS9 with 638 horses (say it isn't so) and Hp2g's 100+ m.p.g.e. hybrid. Production of the Verde is scheduled for later in 2010.
The announcement of the conventional V8s prompted at least on Greeniac to rant "V8 [sic] must die and go to hell! it's the idiot [sic] power train." Count "Truth With Speedzzter" among the "V8 idiots" then!
While the Autoblog Green folks apparently didn't get a look at Hp2g's revolutionary pulsed integrated electric hybrid V8, Hp2g has posted a press release with a drawing of its techincal aspects. Hp2g calls it "Electromagnetic Pulse Power." According to Hp2g's website, the engine augments the normal IC reciprocating assembly with electromagnet elements and "ceramic magnets." In the single cylinder drawing, the engine appears to be a four-valve DOHC with magnetic elements at the crank and at the top of the cylinder.
How all of this will work out in production is unknown. Hopefully one of the Hp2g engines will soon be in the hands of the press.
