2007 FORD FUSION "SPORT APPEARANCE" PACKAGE?

Based on the '07 4-cylinder Fusion SE, the "under $500" option "will add a black chrome grille, color-keyed fog lamps, 17-inch wheels and red seat inserts, along with red top-stitching on the seats."
And FoMoCo reportedly will also tack on a uselessly fake trunklid "spoiler" for another 3 yards.
"MUSCLE?" "Bold move?" "Value?" What a joke.
This empty exercise isn't really any more "sporty" than the cartoonish Mustang II Cobra II tape-stripe and spoiler job from back in the mid-70s.
The new sport Fusion will still be substantially down on power to most of its Asian rivals.
Not exactly the "SVT Fusion" enthusiasts were hoping for.
